- Italian brand producing shoes in Fujian province is searching for an experienced footwear technician English spoken to support China and Italy teams caring to development and engineering with suppliers factories in Fujian coastal cities.
Job Title: Footwear Technical Developer
Job Purpose
The Footwear Technical Developer plays a pivotal role in bridging design creation and mass manufacturing. The position is responsible for translating design concepts into production-ready technical specifications, overseeing prototype and sample creation, evaluating supplier capabilities, and ensuring full compliance with brand quality, fit, and cost parameters across the global supplier network.
Key Responsibilities
• Translate design concepts into detailed technical specifications and develop prototypes and sample footwear; coordinate and collaborate with company manufacturers and suppliers in China and other countries specified by GEOX, to carry out product development in line with Headquarters’ production schedules.
• Test materials, components, and construction methods (including outsoles, uppers, and stitching), and perform on-site quality inspections, production process evaluations, and tests on pre-production samples at supplier premises in the assigned territory, following the specifications and deadlines provided from time to time.
• Conduct checks, verifications, and reports for Headquarters regarding the progress of the manufacturing process, ensuring adherence to production timelines and cost targets.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to fit, comfort, and durability throughout all development and production phases.
• Provide the required technical support and assist suppliers throughout the entire product manufacturing process, managing any necessary modifications, revisions, and improvements in compliance with company instructions and technical requirements.
