(Women’s Footwear – Development & Production)
Company: Modzori - U.S. Women’s Footwear Brand, based in the USA
Factory Location: Huangbu Town, Huizhou City, Huidong County, Guangdong Province, China
Position: Long-Term Independent Business Representative/Assistant in China
Compensation: RMB 10,000 - 12,000 monthly service fee based on experience, plus an annual performance bonus equivalent to one month’s fee.
Payment: Direct international payment, via Wise, is preferable, subject to applicable payment and regulatory requirements.
About Us & the Opportunity
Modzori is a small, family-owned U.S. women’s footwear brand with over 15 years of manufacturing experience in China. We specialize in unique, innovative, reversible footwear that combines comfort, versatility, and distinctive style.
Today’s global footwear market is crowded with countless styles, brands, and price points, making it increasingly challenging to stand out and satisfy customers. Modzori offers something different: a unique reversible footwear concept in a specialized niche that has already established its place in the market.
Our Spring/Summer collections serve resort, cruise, vacation, and warm-weather markets, with established retail relationships built over 15 years. We are not a large or high-volume company and typically have no more than 2 production runs per year.
But we are now planning to introduce a new line of more traditional Spring/Summer women’s footwear for our existing retail accounts and new customers. Our new assistant will have an exciting opportunity to help develop this line from the beginning and grow together with us.
We are looking for a knowledgeable, energetic, responsible, and proactive assistant in China to work directly with our U.S. team on footwear development, production, technical matters, quality control, factories and materials sourcing, and other business needs.
Our existing footwear constructions, production methods, and quality standards have been developed and improved over many years; therefore, we just need eyes on production and an open-minded, innovative brain for problem-solving and development.
Our immediate priority is someone we can trust to be at the factory during production, catch problems early, and ensure our approved standards and improvements are followed.
We also want someone who can help Modzori and the factories work together smoothly, find practical solutions, and make daily work easier for everyone.
We are not looking for a senior manager or someone expecting a large corporate environment or narrowly defined responsibilities. We want a practical, flexible assistant who enjoys working directly with the owners, takes initiative, is willing to learn and help with different tasks and would like to grow with us.
Main Responsibilities:
Production & Quality Control
Be at the factory every working day during active production, throughout production hours.
Follow production from materials and components through assembly, finishing, and packing.
Ensure approved samples, production methods, quality standards, and previous improvements are followed.
Identify problems early, discuss solutions with factory technicians and management, and follow through until corrected.
Provide daily updates with photos and videos and report serious issues immediately.
Technical Development & Sourcing
Assist with footwear development, sampling, production preparation, and technical improvements.
Understand shoe construction, especially platforms in different materials, molds, pressing, lasts, outsole bonding, lasting and assembly.
Help investigate technical problems and find practical alternatives when needed.
Help develop our new Spring/Summer footwear line, including finding suitable factories, materials, components, and coordinating samples through production.
Source needed or missing materials, EVA/PU/TPE/TPR platforms, molds, outsoles, hardware, and suppliers, including in Dongguan and nearby areas.
General Assistance & Communication
Act as our local assistant in China, helping with business tasks, supplier visits, arrangements, accommodations, and other needs.
Help coordinate communication and resolve issues between Modzori and factory management.
Find practical, fair, and cost-effective solutions that reduce difficulties and workload for both sides.
Communicate directly with our U.S. team through WeChat, email, and calls.
Research unfamiliar tasks, take initiative, and follow through on responsibilities.
Maintain positive factory relationships while controlling and protecting Modzori’s quality standards and interests.
What We Are Looking For:
5+ years of actual practical experience in footwear production, technical development, or QC/QA, with good knowledge of shoe construction, manufacturing processes, and production problem-solving.
Assist us with sourcing and researching. Existing supplier contacts are a plus but not a requirement.
Good English communication skills — good spoken English and clear written English are a must.
Own and drive a car, or be willing and able to travel independently to different factories, suppliers, and other locations as needed.
Live near Huidong County / Huangbu town or be willing to stay nearby during production.
Honest, reliable, energetic, detail-oriented, proactive, and willing to learn.
Comfortable using WeChat, email, photos, and videos.
You don’t need to know everything! We value practical experience, good judgment, responsibility, and willingness to learn more than formal education or impressive titles.
Working Arrangement:
This is a long-term independent cooperation with fixed monthly compensation and additional production-completion bonus.
Our business is seasonal. During active production, daily factory presence and full availability during agreed production hours are essential. Between production runs, working time is flexible, with monthly compensation continuing even during quieter periods.
We value honesty, trust, mutual respect, responsibility, and good communication, with no undisclosed commissions or personal benefits from factories or suppliers.

6.Full Production Availability: Can you fully commit to being physically present at the factory every working day during the upcoming production period (November–December and possibly part of January), as well as the following production period (March–April), including staying near the factory when necessary?
