- DESCRIPTION:
• Works close to T1 & T2 vendors onsite, assuring that all designs and specs are implemented to samples, Buy Ready and commercialization.
• Manages the product development processes of Global & Regional projects/lines, as assigned.
• Works closely and supports the Offshore TPD, helping to translate designs, drawings and renderings into real products, determining the most efficient product engineering to maximize production output while reducing costs.
• Highlights preferences on the most appropriate suppliers, based on product request.
• Recommends materials and construction processes, to ensure that samples developed are meeting design and technical expectations.
• Supports development of 3D outsole files done with vendors.
• Receives official mock-up and outsole sample and facilitates validation.
• Ensures last making process with nominated last suppliers, following global standards.
• Ensures execution of fit intent and fit consistency through clear analysis, documentation, communication, adherence to fit standards.
• Maintains records that show the number of lasts, unit models, prototypes and samples being made.
• Facilitates Preparation of physical last and file for each assigned project to send to production source.
• Supervises and supports T1 vendors compiling specs in PLM and BOM’s.
• Validates with Offshore TPD 2D upper drawings and specs sheets.
• Validates with Offshore TPD the product specifications, and maintains all related records.
• Partners with Onshore & Offshore TPD, Material Sourcing and manufacturers teams to develop new materials, construction techniques, processes, and samples used to create innovative and technically superior products each season.
• Tracks the development schedule of all products to ensure a timely completion of meeting samples, buy ready status and commercialization following the predetermined product development & commercialization calendar.
• Supervises and helps Onshore & Offshore TPD validate the confirmation samples and size run.
• Guarantees Comfort & Quality Assurance standards through all sample development phases.
• Supports product technical / engineering initiatives to reduce cost and provide year-on-year cost improvement in collaboration with the Supply Chain Management and various functional groups.
• Supports all development activities to Buy Ready and commercialization, through PLM/PDM, with T1, following the seasonal dev. calendar.
• Coordinates and supports supplier TPD related improvement programs to maximize value.
• Ensures compliance with international purchasing policies and procedures, ethical practices, and adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
• Works closely with Sourcing, Onshore/Offshore TPD and Global Design Team to track new trends in Product Development and Manufacturing processes.
• Works to achieve full transparency and traceability of product and materials within the value chain
• Supports innovation product development as required
• Supports Ad-hoc projects as required
REQUIREMENT:
• 12+ years of experience in Product Development, ideally working in a medium or large size Footwear brand
• Industry related Bachelor’s / College degree or equivalent professional experience in lieu
• Average English written and verbal communication skills is a plus
• Onsite Guangdong or Fujian or Zhejiang
